Good Day for plastic knickers, as Triumph International Japan Ltd, a Toko lingerie maker, unveiled a new line in ladies' underwear made from recycled soft drinks bottles. A bra and a pair of panties can be made from three and a half 1.5 litre plastic bottles. The undies are made from soft cloth or lace produced from fibres of crushed polyethylene terephthalate. The price will be about pounds 35 for matching bra and panties.
Bad Day for burgling, as Michael Hughes, 30, of York, Pennsylvania, was charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and reckless endangerment. The charges came after he had been treated in hospital to have a bullet removed from between his eyes. He had sat on his front porch waiting for the police to arrive after being shot by the man whose house he had broken into and whose car he tried to escape in.
Bad Day for sponsorship, as the Lilian Barracudas under-12 baseball team in Alabama disbanded after a row and lawsuits concerning plans for the team to be sponsored by a pornographic video store.
