Norwich & Peterborough is launching a savings product that offers investors 7.5 per cent gross until mid-July 1994. Interest on the Trident Account is payable annually. Minimum investment is pounds 30,000.

Investors will be allowed no-penalty instant access to their accounts between 1 July and 14 July. Thereafter, withdrawals are made with 85 days' notice or with the same number of days' penalty.

Royal Scottish Assurance has launched a five-year investment linked to the performance of the FT-SE 100. Investors are guaranteed their money back if the market fails to perform. If it rises, they will receive the equivalent of 95 per cent of their investment multiplied by 105 per cent of any growth in the index.
