THORNTON Unit Managers has closed down its cash unit trust and returned pounds 150,000 to 36 investors. The company said the fund was too small and was no longer able to obtain attractive rates of interest on the wholesale money markets.
Cash unit trusts have attracted investors because they have been offering higher rates of interest than bank and building society accounts.
