Arsonists caused more than pounds 2m of damage at two milk depots yesterday, destroying up to 38 tankers and other vehicles.

Police believe the attacks at Milk Marque depots in Macclesfield and Crewe in Cheshire may be the work of animal rights activists. A number of incendiary devices which failed to ignite were being examined by forensic scientists.
