The most important relationship in British politics for the next 15 years could now be forged between Labour and the Liberal Democrats, Paddy Ashdown says in today's Independent.
With the overwhelming goodwill of the nation behind him, Tony Blair could now embark on "a great decade of reform" with Liberal Democrat support. The most important signal of change would be a referendum on proportional representation: "Last Thursday's vote delivered a mandate for real change in Britain."
