Institute bytes into the future

The University of Liverpool has set up an advanced institute to help industry exploit the massive processing power of the latest computers. 'Industry needs faster and more efficient computing to improve its international competitiveness,' Professor Mike Delves, director of the Institute of Advanced Scientific Computation, said. 'Companies need new and better computer methods, tailored to today's hardware, to exploit this power fully. We know how to do this, and are itching to tell people.'
