The Stock Exchange is expected to announce today the final result of its inquiry into share dealings by Mick Newmarch, former chief executive of Prudential, Britain's largest insurance company. The exchange's Quotations Committee met for more than three hours yesterday to consider an appeal by Mr Newmarch against censure for breaching the model code on directors' dealings. Sir Brian Corby, the Pru's chairman and acting chief executive, also faces censure for authorising Mr Newmarch's exercise and sale of share options in the company last October, hours before a critical report by the Securities and Investments Board on pensions mis-selling by the insurance industry.
