Pub probe delay

THE OFFICE of Fair Trading has extended its examination of Whitbread's purchase of 3,500 pubs from Allied Domecq by 15 days, to 14 July. The extension means Allied Domecq shareholders will vote on the deal more than two weeks before the OFT's findings are known.
