AN ARTICLE yesterday wrongly suggested that had been appointed chairman of the Financial Reporting Review Panel after the election in recognition of his donation of over pounds 5,000 to the Labour Party. We have now been told that this is not a government appointment but is made by an independent committee, and that Peter Goldsmith was asked to take over as Chairman of the Panel, of which he was already a member, before the election. We apologise for this error.
