A generic image of halal meat in a shop window, supplied to us by a picture agency, was used in the paper yesterday to illustrate a story about contaminated chicken. Some readers might have identified the window as belonging to a Subway branch. Subway have asked us to clarify that there is no suggestion its outlets were among those conned into selling adulterated meat.
