Crash blocks road

One of the North-east's busiest roads remained closed through the night as emergency services continued to deal with problems arising from a crash between diesel and chemical tankers. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospital - one suffering from a broken leg, the other a fractured pelvis - after the crash which occurred before dawn yesterday and blocked the A19 south of Middlesbrough in Cleveland.
