Diabetic cleared of murder

A MAN who stabbed his friend through the heart was allowed to walk free from court yesterday after a judge cleared him of murder because he was a diabetic. Medical reports showed Alasdair Padmore, 37, had too much insulin in his body and suffered a blackout during which he killed Nicholas Trent, 45, at the house they shared in Stockwell, south London, and attacked police officers.
