12 December 1992, Indonesia: East Nusa Tenggara hit. At least 2,200 killed; 6.8 on Richter scale.
28 May 1995, Russia: 1,989 people killed on Sakhalin Island; 7.5 on Richter scale.
10 May 1997, Iran: 1,560 people killed and 2,810 injured in rural areas of eastern Iran; 7.1 on Richter scale.
28 February 1997, Iran: An earthquake killed about 1,000 people and injured 2,000 in north-west Iran; 5.5 on the Richter scale.
6 June 1994, Colombia: About 1,000 people were killed in quake and mudslides in south-west.
