THE editor of satirical magazine Scallywag was cleared of acting illegally over secret computer files taken from former defence minister Michael Portillo's office.

But Judge George Bathurst-Norman told Simon Regan, 55, he was allowing his appeal against a magistrates' court conviction only "with very great regret".
