IAN JACK, editor of the Independent on Sunday, was named last week as National Newspaper Editor of the Year in the 1993 Newspaper Industry Awards. The judges praised Mr Jack's achievement in making the newspaper the fastest growing Sunday broadsheet in recent years while other papers' circulations were static or falling. He had maintained 'the imagination and innovation' that had been the paper's hallmark.
