Pupils are being turned off by 'boring' IT lessons

Dull lessons and poor teaching have put a generation of young people off studying computer science to bolster their careers, former chief schools inspector Sir David Bell claims.

He says the UK must tackle its “lost generation” of computer programmers or risk falling behind globally. He adds that ministers and the education system “got it wrong” in the ’90s and 2000s by teaching mundane office skills in IT lessons instead of how to build software.
