The Department of Transport has ordered an emergency investigation into claims that the Channel Tunnel is vulnerable to a terrorist attack.

European Passenger Services and Eurotunnel, the companies responsible for passenger safety, have been told to produce an "immediate report", a DoT spokesman said.
