'King of the Sting' wrongly released

A top-level inquiry has been launched after it emerged "King of the Sting" Barry Gray was wrongly released last week.

Police have been informed the 61-year-old trickster, who has spent a lifetime conning victims with carefully crafted deceptions, was "unlawfully at large". Gray was sentenced to two years' imprisonment at Southwark Crown Court last Monday but was let free after the judge's remarks were misinterpreted.
