Gardai are keeping an open mind on the punishment-style killing of a man from Co Sligo who bled to death yesterday after being shot in both knees. Detectives have not ruled out a personal motive for the attack on Terry Madden, 51, a shopkeeper who was married with three children.
He was shot at his home between Ballymote and Ballaghaderreen as he got into his car at about 8am to go to a meeting in Dublin.
