The name of Brazilian actress Leila Lopes has shot up to the top of Google Insights' list of trending topics on December 8.
A high proportion of Google searches in 2009 have been related to celebrity deaths.
The untimely passing of Leila Lopes - famous for her work as a journalist and her appearances on Brazilian television - has launched another wave of celebrity-oriented searches on Google's search engine.
Searches for Lopes join the already trending searches for Tiger Woods and one of his alleged mistresses, Jaimee Grubbs.
Convicted murderer Amanda Knox continues to feature in Google's list of trending topics, dropping one place to the third position on the list.
The search terms with the most significant growth worldwide in the last seven days as measured by Google Insights, recorded on December 8 at 9:30 AM GMT are:
