MORE than 150 patients have been alerted after a surgeon working on an orthopaedic ward contracted tuberculosis. Letters have been sent to orthopaedic patients who were treated at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in Shropshire last month.
The surgeon, who has not been named, is recovering and there have been no reported cases of the disease among his colleagues or patients.
