Jeremy Corbyn has denied claims he was "dancing" in Whitehall prior to the Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph and explained the photo in question was "cropped".

A spokesman for the Labour leader claimed images purporting to show the opposition leader “jigging” ahead of the commemorations had been “cropped”.

“Jeremy wasn't dancing. He was gesticulating whilst talking to Second World War veteran George Durack,” Mr Corbyn’s spokesperson said.

The Daily Mail have removed an article about the image. A spokesperson for the publication told The Independent: “We have been given guidance that the pictures are not as billed so it’s disingenuous to show the picture. He was actually engaged in a conversation with a war veteran but the photo was cropped”.

Mr Corbyn's spokesman said Labour was thinking about taking the issue to the Independent Press Standards Organisation.

The Labour leader laid a poppy wreath in commemoration of those who have given their lives to war. “In honour of those who must not have died in vain, we must bring about a peaceful world,” it read.
