Patrick Lippert, political campaigner, died Marina del Rey 13 July, aged 35. Executive director of Rock the Vote, a nationwide campaign to sign up young voters in the US. The group registered 350,000 people, and claimed to have increased turnout among 18- to 24-year-olds by 18 per cent in the 1992 presidential election.
