WHILST I enjoyed Anthony Hayward's detailed obituary of Peter Cushing, there was, however, a glaring omission in the list of Cushing's screen credits, writes Michael Lynch.

I am speaking of his wonderfully sinister turn as Grand Moff Tarkin in George Lucas's Star Wars (1977). As one of the great Cushing's screen villains might have said: 'Such oversights cannot go unpunished.'
