Ruby Rose discusses Justin Bieber comparisons and compares Conan O'Brien to Meryl Streep

Ruby Rose was the breakout star of Orange Is The New Black’s third season earlier this year, and while the Australian has suddenly become something of a heartthrob for her androgynous style, the regular comparisons to perpetual brat Justin Bieber look like they’re starting to wear thin.

Appearing on Conan O'Brien's talk show, the actress, who plays inmate Stella Carlin, admitted she gets compared to Bieber quite a lot.

“How do you feel about that?” he asked her.

But Rose handled it like a pro, “You know, I heard he gets asked if he’s Ruby Rose, and that must be really frustrating for him,” she joked.

She then suggested that O’Brien might be able to relate, given that he looks like a combination of several people himself.

“You look like a mixture of Tilda Swinton, Meryl Streep, and like, Joel Edgerton,” she suggested to a bewildered Conan.

“You’d be like their lovechild.”

“I like that two of them are women,” O'Brien replied in his usual dry tone.

“I like that you threw one guy in there, just to butch it up a bit."

"What can I say, you’re very beautiful,” Rose replied, smirking.

Rose became an overnight sensation after appearing on the hit Netflix show, after her character came between lovebirds Piper and Alex.

She is also a youth ambassador for Headspace, a charity supporting depression, and came out at the age of 12. Rose has spoken regularly about her gender identity and her refusal to transition despite not identifying by either binary gender.
