pounds 1.6m for brain damage

THE SON of a woman who was left brain-damaged after an operation went wrong in 1973 yesterday said he wished his father had been alive to see her receive pounds 1.6m in compensation.

Aubrey Dodd from Bedworth, Warwickshire, said his father had fought for years to win damages for his wife, Eileen, but had died of cancer in 1994. Yesterday a judge at Birmingham Crown Court approved the out- of-court settlement with North Warwickshire Health Authority.
