James Watt bust to appear in 3D

A sculpture of James Watt, one of the Industrial Revolution's greatest engineers, has been created using 3D technology.

The Scot's pioneering work on steam engines helped turn Britain into an industrial powerhouse in the 18th and 19th centuries. The bust comes from a mould found in Watt's workshop during preparations for an exhibition on his life at London's Science Museum.

The mould is one of 26 – some still wrapped in their original brown paper – found in Watt's preserved workshop, which is recreated in the museum.
