A man was extradited to Britain yesterday, in connection with the killing of a "have-a-go hero" 29 years ago. Arthur Jackson arrived at London's Heathrow airport from San Francisco after being released from a Californian prison.
The 60-year-old Scot was driven to Chelsea police station in west London to be interviewed about the killing of former Grenadier guardsman Anthony Fletcher in 1967. Mr Fletcher, 33, was shot dead when he chased an armed bank robber in Chelsea in 1967. He was awarded a posthumous George Cross for his bravery.
