Taking a fresh look at London
FROM TOMORROW the Independent will outdo all other national newspapers in the service it offers to readers in and around London.
Every weekday it will provide an extra tabloid section devoted to getting the best out of the capital in large ways and small - from choosing a good film for the evening to campaigning to make London work for its citizens in the way that it should.
It will also introduce a card offering discounts on a wide range of London tickets.
At the core of Independent London will be an arts, entertainments and events listing service more comprehensive than any available daily, organised in a way which will make it particularly helpful and easy to use; each entry will come with the information you need to decide whether or not something is for you.
Independent London will range wide in its
journalism, reporting on those aspects of city and suburban life of most concern to our readers; informing, campaigning and - we hope - entertaining. Its aim will be to engage the readers in a dialogue which will diminish some of the pains of the capital city . . . and greatly extend its pleasures.
