THE MAIN loyalist terrorist organisations in Belfast issued a statement threatening more violence but promising respect for nationalists who sought constitutional change by peaceful means, writes David McKittrick.
The 'Combined Loyalist Military Command' indicated that violence would follow any attempt to change Northern Ireland's position as part of the UK.
A senior Irish politician warned that if any London- Dublin deal fell through the IRA would mount attacks in the new year.
