One of 19 ethnic Albanians on trial in Serbia's Kosovo province testified yesterday, describing torture inflicted on him by Serb police and undressing in court to show traces of the beatings.
Nait Hasani, a Kosovo student charged with terrorism and separatism, is considered the key figure in the trial. Mr Hasani, who was arrested in late January, is suspected of leading a shadowy a paramilitary group called the Kosovo Liberation Army, which is striving for the province's independence from Serbia.
