Britain's first green transport demonstration takes place today with protesters calling for the pounds 20bn roads programme to be scrapped in favour of better public transport.

There will be a rally at Euston, central London, with speakers from Friends of the Earth, the Pedestrians Association and Alarm UK, an alliance of anti-road building groups.
