An importer of plastic egg boilers was ordered by the High Court to be convicted for failing to warn that eggs could explode if they were not pierced before cooking. The boilers, distributed by the Ackerman Group, of Chingford, east London, were designed to be used in microwave ovens. The judges sent the case back to the magistrates' court, which will hear mitigation and decide a penalty up to a maximum fine of pounds 5,000.
