A waiter was jailed for a murder he committed 12 years ago. Nadine El Ghazal, 35, denied killing Carlos Mery-Sequela, 40, a university lecturer whose mutilated body was found in his flat in Chelsea, south-west London in 1980. The Old Bailey was told that El Ghazal confessed to his wife after the murder and she informed police when they split up in 1990.
