A WOMAN with suspected cancer, who protested she had been 'left in limbo' by a cash-strapped NHS, was promised early surgery the day after her plight was highlighted in the Independent on Sunday, writes Judy Jones.

Ethel Sanders, 42, had been told she might have to wait several weeks for an urgent operation at Harold Wood Hospital, in Romford, Essex. Now she will have the operation on Tuesday.
