THE number of complaints about domestic noise rose by 20 per cent during 1992-93 to more than 111,500, the Institution of Environmental Health Officers reports today.
The figure, calculated from a survey of almost 300 local authorities, is the highest recorded by the institution, which represents council staff who deal with noise complaints. It is also the biggest annual increase and compares with a total of about 42,000 in 1983.
