Scott inquiry report delayed

LORD Justice Scott's report into the arms-to-Iraq affair will now be published in the new year, the inquiry team said in a statement yesterday. The judge, who had hoped to complete his report by the autumn, is still gathering written evidence from witnesses.

It was also disclosed that he has called two further MI6 witnesses to give oral evidence at closed hearings this month. The inquiry was set up by John Major after the Matrix Churchill trial collapsed in 1992.
