Two men were remanded in custody by magistrates in Bexley, south-east London, yesterday charged with attempting to murder a policeman shot during a pounds 17,000 armed raid in Sidcup on Tuesday.

Anthony Pendrigh, 26, from Eltham, and Steven Farrer, 25, of Greenwich, each face seven charges, including attempting to murder Detective Sergeant Michael Stubbs, 43, and possession of an arsenal of weapons.
