Banda released from house arrest

Blantyre - Malawi's High Court granted conditional bail to ex-president Hastings Kamuzu Banda, ending nine months of house arrest imposed because of murder charges. Mr Banda, 96, his former aide John Tembo, and two former senior policemen, have been implicated in the deaths of four politicians. AFP
