Rafael Caldera was sworn in as Venezuela's President yesterday, AFP reports from Caracas. Mr Caldera, 78, who was president from 1969 to 1974, immediately served notice he would ease up on efforts to liberalise the economy and make it his top priority to raise living standards for the growing number of poor.
