Honduran authorities broke up a plot by drug traffickers to assassinate President Carlos Roberto Reina, AFP reports from Tegucigalpa.
The plot was exposed by a Nicaraguan, Roger Arguello, who told Interior Ministry agents about it after he and two others were arrested. The three had been hired by a car-theft and drug-trafficking ring, and had entered Honduras to burn down a paint factory to collect dollars 3m in insurance.
