Russian and US military forces will next week conduct what is believed to be their first joint training exercise on Russian soil since the Second World War, US defence officials said, Reuter reports from Washington. In the latest step in post-Cold War co-operation, US Air Force and Air National Guard search-and-rescue units will fly to Siberia on Monday for a two-day exercise to practise rescue operations with Russian forces in an Arctic environment.
