PARIS (Reuter) - A 24-hour railway strike disrupted services in many parts of France. Trains from Paris to the south were the most affected, with traffic to Lyons cut by half and to Marseilles by two-thirds. Railway workers called the strike, part of a wider European stoppage, to protest against plans to reorganise and privatise parts of the network and close unprofitable routes.
