The world's largest paper plane smashed a world record when it flew almost 40 metres in a gymnasium near here, AFP reports from Tokyo. The aircraft, made of cardboard and paper, weighing 23kg (50.6lb) and with a wingspan of 13.5 metres, is expected to win a place in the Guinness Book of Records. It was built by members of the junior chamber of commerce of Tokorozawa City, north-west of Tokyo.
