Israel and the PLO sat down to a fresh round of talks on Gaza and Jericho yesterday with the PLO expressing hope that a deal could be clinched in the session, Reuter reports from Cairo. Israel, meanwhile, agreed to let 20,000 Palestinians return to work in Israel, lifting a 10-day closure of the occupied territories.
