Moscow - Russian legal authorities said they had halted criminal proceedings against the satirical Kukly puppet show. The acting Prosecutor-General, Oleg Gaydanov, said the case initiated by his predecessor, Aleksei Ilyushenko, who was sacked on Sunday, had been dropped but he gave no details. In a case launched last July, Kukly was accused of denigrating President Boris Yeltsin and other senior government officials. Reuter
