Support for the idea of Australia breaking its ties with the British monarchy and becoming a republic appears to be waning, an opinion poll shows, Reuter reports from Sydney.
The poll, to be published in the Australian edition of Time magazine, shows 44 per cent of Australians now believe the country should become a republic, down from 52 per cent in April.
