NOT ALL the singing at Royal Ascot is rowdy. Jinny, the jolly wife of Clerk of the Course Sir Nicholas Beaumont, ascends to the bandstand at the end of each day's racing and leads the crowd in community singing of such ditties as 'Rule Britannia' and 'Hello Dolly'. This week Sir Nicholas retired after 30 years at Ascot. He will be hard to replace, as will Lady Beaumont's voice.
