TIM RUDGE, who founded Derby Bucks 10 years ago but took over as coach only two weeks ago, leads them to their first appearance in the play-off finals at Wembley Arena on 30 April and 1 May after ousting the league champions, Thames Valley Tigers, from the quarter-finals, writes Duncan Hooper.
The 42-year-old Rudge said: 'It's been a wonderful week for the fans and the players, especially Tim Lascelles and Andy Maher, who I recruited nine years ago.'
Derby's 83-81 home win over Tigers last weekend was followed by a 91-79 midweek victory on Thames Valley's court in Bracknell.
In the semi-finals, Derby play either Worthing Bears or Leicester, while Manchester Giants face either Guildford Kings or London Towers.
