Alejandro Gonzalez, of Mexico, took the World Boxing Council featherweight world title from Kevin Kelley, when he stopped the American in the 11th round on Saturday.

Thailand's World Boxing Federation junior bantamweight champion, Samson Elite Gym, retained the title yesterday with an eighth-round stoppage against Rolando Pascua, of the Philippines.
